FUSION@Cenovus - 2026 Black History Month - Canada
About this Giving Opportunity
CA$80.14
Donated of CA$500.00In recognition of Black History Month, Fusion is calling for donations to support youth development initiatives.
Every day, Black Youth Helpline (BYH) provides culturally responsive guidance, crisis support, and problem‑solving assistance to young people who are facing barriers at school, at home, or in their communities. Your donation ensures that Black youth receive the support they need—when they need it most.
The Impact of Your Donation:
A $500 donation helps sustain free, culturally relevant support services for Black youth and families across Canada. Because BYH services are offered at no cost to clients, donations are critical to keeping the helpline accessible and responsive including:
Helpline access and response capacity
- Supports staffing and operational costs that allow BYH to answer calls, emails, and requests from youth, families, and schools.
Professional intake and assessment
- Contributes to the time and expertise required for professional, culturally relevant intake and assessment, which is central to BYH’s model.
Ongoing guidance and systems navigation
- Supports follow‑up conversations, check‑ins, and guidance that help youth and families navigate education systems, mental‑health services, and community resources.
Stay‑in‑school and family support services
- Helps sustain BYH’s work with families and schools to address challenges that may put youth at risk of disengaging from education.
Barrier‑free, culturally appropriate care
- Helps ensure services remain free, inclusive, and culturally responsive for underserved and under‑represented communities.
