About this Giving Opportunity
On October 17, 2026, a fast-moving grass fire overtook Canadian Armed Forces members during a training exercise at CFB Wainwright, resulting in the loss of four service members and injuries to dozens more. The event has had a profound impact on military members, their families and communities across Canada.
Through this giving opportunity, Cenovus Cares is supporting the Wainwright Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC), which provides programs, resources and direct support to military families during times of need. Donations will help the MFRC support families affected by this tragedy as they navigate the difficult days and months ahead.
Eligible donations will be matched 1:1 through Cenovus Cares.
